Time management

I have a situation. Like a year ago, I was on third shifts. My shifts started at midnight and ended at 7 am. Those shifts give me the ability to take on another partial job in the Afternoon. This other job was to give class in a private university.

The Hourly Schedule at the university starts at 7 pm. Some days it goes until 10 pm, others until 11 pm. It is very satisfactory to share my knowledge with other people and this motivates me (plus, the money is not bad, either!).

I have 2 years giving this class. I was in the middle of vacations when I receive a phone call from my work:

- Hello? – marko

- Hi, marko, this is Oscar – Oscar

- How can I help you… - marko

- We have a proposition for you: You will have more work and same money… What do you think? - Oscar

- It’s ok… I think…

Suddenly, I have to stop my vacations and return to work. But, the difference now is that I have the change shifts. Now I’m in first shift. We (the team) have a LOT of work. The hourly schedule goes from 7 am until 4 pm… but most of the time I’m still at my desk at 6 pm…

I was ok with third shift. I could be with my family in the morning to take them to the school. In the afternoon, we could do homework together. The bad part was when it was bedtime. I could sleep a little in the morning and sleep a little in the afternoon.

At the same time, I still had the university classes and the schedule of those classes did not change. Suddenly, my scheduled change with my family. Instead of seeing them in the morning, the afternoon and the night the only time I can see them now is in the afternoon.

I have to make a choice. What do I want? In one hand, I have the classes (and more money). In the other hand, I want to see my kids.

Obviously, I want to be with my family. But the choice is not easy, because to give up the class means I have the cut the family income to (almost a ) third…

I love to give class. The atmosphere… prepare the class… the test… be recognized by students… the feeling is awesome…

But, to be with my family does not have a price, right?
