Defeating the Tiger

Last night I dreamt I was at a town picnic.  All was well until a tiger showed up and started mauling people.

Townsmen – “We must do something!  People are suffering!”

Townsmen – “We must end their suffering!”

I could hear cries and wails from those being attacked.  I witnessed them being bitten without fighting back, just accepting their fate.

Townsmen – “We have to shoot the people being attacked to end their suffering.  One bullet in the head and their suffering will stop.”

All were in agreement, even the victim getting attacked.  He agreed he must die.  It’s the merciful thing to do.

The mayor of the town pressed the nozzle of a gun to the victims temple and said, “it’ll all be over soon.”

He fired the shot but missed.  The victim was only grazed by the bullet.

Me – “That’s not the way!”

I grabbed a weapon, any weapon I could find, an axe, and started swinging it at the tiger.

I didn’t want to kill it, because of his eyes, I just wanted to scare it off so it knows never to attack again.  I swung at him intending not to fatally wound him, and he looked at me with his big sad eyes and understood he’d been beaten.

And then I woke up.  I looked at the clock and it was 1:30 in the afternoon.

I needed sleep apparently.

Closing a Business only to open a new one in a new location takes its toll.  Not to mention massaging clients in the mess of things, keeping track of their needs, my employee’s needs, the IRS’s needs, my basic living needs…etc.

It’s impossible to tell you all that needed to be done, all that still needs to be done.

I was going to bankrupt my old business to protect it from being sued, but it takes 4 months to process a bankruptcy case and by then my business loan will be nearly paid off and if I am to be sued, it would’ve happened by then.  Going bankrupt will accomplish nothing, only add to my problems.

So I hope by dissolving my business, it will be good enough protection.

Anthony’s pre-trial is tomorrow.  He didn’t offer a plea yet, and I’m not sure if he’ll do it tomorrow but if he does, if he’s convicted tomorrow, I might get sued the very next day.  I don’t know how any of this works, but only assuming the worse-case scenario.  If he’s convicted tomorrow, it might be too soon.  My business was not properly dissolved in time.  But if it happens next month, I might be safe.  At least, safer.  As long as my business had been properly, legally terminated.

Talk about cutting it close.

I need to do my taxes.  It’s easy imputing the numbers into Turbo Tax, but getting the numbers is the real pain.  I still need to go through all my receipts.

I’m at the end of the road here, on this final day in February.  Leap year, of all years.  An extra day before judgement.

Tomorrow my old landlord will tell me if I owe him any money for property damages.  I tried my hardest with returning everything to good condition but I hit some pitfalls.  A huge cabinet cracked the doorframe when it was being carried out, but I repaired it in a way that he may not see it, or might not know if it was there before I moved in two years ago.

Truthfully, I don’t even know if it was there already.

After judgment day, tomorrow (the verdict on Anthony’s case and the condition I left the property), I’ll only need to do two more things until this escapade is behind me.  That is, only two more unless judgment day adds more days to this long haul.

I only need to file taxes which I can get done in about a day, and gear up to sell my upgraded groupons.  Once those two things are done, once groupon sends me my fatty check, I’ll have no more fears over anything.

I will be back on the online scheduler two days a week, I’ll be working hard for at least 2 months, but then freedom.  Two months and then freedom.

The I-Ching foretold success and I will indeed accomplish my goals, until August rolls around and I’m hit with bad news.  Either I’ll get hurt, or the business will suffer, or something else.

Me and Brianna, my travel companion, decided to push Bali into August.  We are going to Bali in August.  The same month the I-Ching warned me about.

I hate when thing coincide.  Will I let the I-Ching deter me from going on my trip?  Probably not.

Maybe you can’t change fate.  I couldn’t stop it from happening last time it warned me.
