I don’t put up many Halloween decorations, not because I don’t enjoy the holiday but because I’m way too lazy to haul down the fall decor bucket from the top shelf of the garage. But there are a couple items I try to display every year, and one of them is a small wooden sign with this awesome quote from the Wicked Witch of the West.

I’ve wanted to create a larger version I could display in the family room, so I designed this simple printable you can frame. I’m also an overachiever and couldn’t stop with a printable. I went ahead and turned this Wicked Witch “flying monkeys” quote into a cut file so I could put it on a t-shirt and tote bag.

I’d have put it on a pillow cover but I haven’t the first idea where to buy one; my pillows always come pre-assembled. LOL

It’s so not too late to make these super simple Halloween crafts. Heck, if I can do it in an evening, you can do it in, like, 6 1/2 minutes! Here’s what you’ll need to make the gift tags:

• T-shirt cut file (SVG or PNG) file and/or tote bag cut file (SVG or PNG)
• Electronic cutting machine (I use this one)
• Heat transfer vinyl (I love Siser Easyweed HTV)
• Iron (this one has great reviews!)
• Parchment paper (these parchment sheets are perfect!) or Teflon sheets (try this 5-pack)
• T-shirt and/or tote bag (I bought both at Hobby Lobby)

And here’s how to make your Wicked Witch “flying monkeys” Halloween t-shirt or tote:

1. Download the t-shirt and/or tote cut files.
2. Upload the design to your design software and size it to whatever works best. Don’t forget to mirror the image so the text appears backwards on the screen! I forgot to do this and had to re-cut the t-shirt vinyl. Gah!
3. Feed the heat transfer vinyl into your machine matte side up. Select heat transfer vinyl in the media menu and cut.
4. Peel the negative space in the design from the plastic backing; you should have only the words left on the clear plastic transfer sheet.
   Heat your iron on the cotton/linen (highest) setting.
5. Position the design on the t-shirt or tote face down so the clear transfer sheet is on top. (Text should be facing the right direction.)
6. Place a piece of parchment paper or Teflon sheet over the design. Use the heated iron and press FIRMLY on top of the design for 45-60 seconds.
7. Remove the iron and paper and gently peel up the transfer sheet. If the vinyl continues to stick to the sheet, replace the cloth and iron again making sure to apply heavy pressure.
