Day 2 – Progress is made

Today is a good day. Not only have I lost 1lb since yesterday, I have crossed a milestone, it’s always special when you drop below a stone threshold. I won’t say which one, but for any fellow dieters out there, you will know how great this feels.

Having said that, I know there is still a long way to go, so I must keep myself motivated. I’ve had a good day in terms of what I have eaten, and I’ve also walked (yes walked!) to Sainsburys and back to get my weekly shop.

In order to be able to report on my Current Dress Size, I said yesterday that I would consider myself to be a lower dress size when I can fit into 5 outfits of the smaller size. So today, I found 5 outfits of size 14 some of which are more generous than others. These are:
1. A pair of pale blue jeans with a t-shirt
2. A pair of black evening combat style trousers and a halterneck top
2. An off the shoulder turquoise dress
3. A pair of black business trousers and a corset style top
4. A pair of beaded blue jeans with a corset style top

I’ve listed these in the order of how likely I am to be able to fit into them at a larger weight. Each day I have lost weight I will start at the top and try on the items. As soon as I reach an item I cannot fit into, I won’t try anymore on that particular day. When the wonderful day comes that I can wear all 5 outfits, I will consider myself a size 14 and start working to the next, and final goal, the elusive size 12!!

So, today I tried on outfit number 1: the pale blue jeans with the t-shirt. Hurrah these fitted. Next, outfit number 2: the combat style trousers. I managed to get them on, but alas could not do them up. So that’s it for now, quite a few pounds to go till I’m properly a 14 I think. Nevermind, it’s been a good day nevertheless.

Tomorrow I play badminton with my fellow pact-ee. She’s been on holiday so no doubt will be struggling with her part of the bargain, it’s up to me to rally her round and give her some inspiration to keep on with it. After all…I would like my michelin star dinner, and I need her to succeed just as much as I need myself to! Incidentally, if anyone can recommend a michelin star restaurant in England, any comments gladly received.

Weeks to go: 13.5

Pounds to go: 20 lbs

Current dress size: 16
