Project Discover Week #19

Hey Phoenix, we’re back!

Well sort of.  Tonight is Boise, tomorrow Provo, Sunday Vegas (baby!) and Monday Phoenix!

Portland, it’s been fun. Not really.

That’s you I’m seeing in my rearview!

It’s funny, the more people I talk to about Portland, the more it seems like it is an amazing place to visit, but not that awesome for living.  Or for at least for the Misadventures profile. We didn’t like it much at all.

Or for at least for the Misadventures profile. We didn’t like it much at all.

Now, I know we didn’t exactly stay in Portland during the best time of year, far from it. But we’ve known winters and we’ve known rain. But the past few months have been difficult with all the rain because this type of weather is just not optimal for living in an RV, particularly one without a lot of natural light.

So, we’re moving on.  Heading back to Phoenix. We are prepping the RV to sell it. Mr. Misadventures and I are planners, and we never had any intention of keeping the motorcoach forever.  The best time to sell the particular model we have is between year 2 and 3, and we are approaching that sweet spot.

Our decision has been on slow burn for awhile. With more and more of our job opportunities potential being in other parts of the United States, we decided to get back to our “home base”.  The West Coast is beautiful, and truly a wonderful place to visit. And for those who can afford it, an amazing place to live, but Mr. Misadventures and I want to take our work experience and skillset to more underserved markets where the cost of living is far lower than California, Washington, and Oregon.

So this week we found ourselves prepping for our departure. And in true Portland style, it rained the two days before we left making shifting cargo and repacking the rig none too pleasurable.

We’re also planning for the next two weeks, which is about as far as we can plan these days!  I’ve got BlogHouse coming up in Indianapolis next week as well, something I am really looking forward to, despite the now bad timing. The Universe doesn’t always ask us what we think!

I had such a great time the last time I was in Indy, it is such a great town and it’s going to be fun to rexplore it!

NCAA Basketball Tournament in Indy April 2015.

The hero image this week is a bowl of cherries, because life it truly a bowl of cherries, not quite round, you try to forget about the nasty pit and enjoy the sweetness.

And also, I bought some for my cheat day.  Washington cherries, in season? Not passing that up!

Health and fitness-wise we made the low carb salmon chowder again, we tried it with artic char, I think it was better with the Atlantic salmon plus we didn’t use enough cauliflower so it wasn’t as thick as last time.  Third time will be the charm on that one.  I still want to try making a cream of broccoli soup with the same method, but given the fact that it is set to be around 115-120 in Phoenix, I might hold on to that for a bit!

I also grilled a pork roast that I marinated the same way I did for tandoori chicken, it turned out like heaven, I have a post coming up on that experience next week.

Knowing that we would be in an RV for 4 days straight, I pushed for us to exercise as many days as possible this week. Right now the salmon sashimi at the Japanese market it particularly good so I also made sure we had sashimi one more time, who knows when I’ll get that again!

I didn’t lose any weight or gain any weight this week. I believe I have reached a plateau on the weight loss, so I need to change things up a bit, up my exercise. I’m pretty sure I’ll sweat out a few pounds in Phoenix!

On the blog front I have been plugging along updating old posts, creating Pinterest images and doing a lot of pinning and re-pinning. Mr. Misadventures will be helping a bit on that front so I hope to see some traction.  Also hoping for a lot next week at BlogHouse, I’ll let you know how that goes.

Thanks to everyone who supported my guest-poster Shane who wrote about 6 useful travel photography tips for beginners. I’ve got an awesome guest poster next Wednesday from a blog I discovered a few weeks ago.

A big thanks to everyone for putting up with the Work at Home bundle, I have come to the decision that I will no longer be promoting those bundles.  Too much work and it makes me feel like a car salesman!

That’s been my week, what have you been up to?
