Just woke up

I haven't been able to sleep in for a very very long time. Especially, on a Saturday morning. Am feeling rather refreshed and happy today. I Guess I'm just enjoying my last days of being 17. One feels slightly old after crossing the big 18? Yes? No? So I want to feel young for as long as I can. A prolonged youth!

Karl and I are planning a sort of small birthday get-together with mutual friends. It's going to be very small. No 'party' thing going on, whatsoever. Just friends, dinner and then mucking around town, probably? I like to keep things simple.. well, for this year, anyway. Speaking of which, I haven't celebrated my birthday with friends for the last 12 years. The first and last time I ever did was when I was 6. I had my mom make goodie bags for everyone in my class and she even brought a cake along to school. It wasn't that great a party. I guess that sort of put me off celebrating with friends for a bit.

But this year is different. I have friends I actually like. Things I can actually do. Plus, I'm turning 18. So it's awesome. And I have a birthday twin! How cool is that?

I met a friend on the bus the other day. I haven't seen him since last semester? We were both quite surprised to see each other on the bus. "Long time no see!" I said, as I sat down next to him. And me being the ultra-sensitive person I am, I sensed something different about him this semester. He seemed alot happier and relaxed compared to last semester.. (Well, I felt it.) But it's not just a normal sort of happiness. It was the sort of happiness that was filled with delight and excitement - full of life! You know what I mean? We've all had those moments. I know I have. And I had a suspicion that it probably had something to do with.. a girl? WELL, GUESS WHAT? I was damn right. Ha. It was a girl! A german exchange student, in fact! Oh, how wonderful. I knew it. I knew it. I knew it. (:

I am an unemployed student doing a biz degree in Auckland and totally enjoying it.
