#BloggingGoals 2018….

Over the last couple of weeks, I’ve shared with you my home goals and my garden goals and today, I’m sharing my Blogging goals with you.

#BloggingGoals 2018

I don’t usually tend to share my blogging goals with you all for a couple of reasons:

(a) because I get that blogging posts can be a bit boring and only interesting if you’re a blogger (and even then at a stretch) and (b) I don’t generally have many blogging goals as I try and avoid anything stats related.

But this year is a bit different as I have actually set myself some goals – maybe not the kind of goals that other bloggers have set as they have no relation to page views and followers but they’re all things I want to achieve that are related to my blog so I’m going to share them…

Get out of my comfort zone again

I rarely attend any blogging conferences or events because I’m quite shy and don’t usually feel all that comfortable when I’m with a lot of people I don’t know.  Last year, after some gentle nudging from the lovely Becky, I went to the UK Money Bloggers Conference and although I was super nervous on the train on the way down, the day itself was brilliant.  I learned a lot and made some great connections but more importantly, I met up with some old friends and made lots of new friends.

This year, I’ll definitely be back at the UK Money Bloggers conference but more than that, I’ll be attending a bloggers retreat in April which involves a two-night stay in a hotel near Bristol.  Again, this is something I wouldn’t usually do but after some more gentle nudging from Becky, I’ve booked up to go and surprisingly, I can’t wait.

I’m pretty organised already too – I’ve chosen the sessions I want to attend, ordered my Business Cards (which I love!) and I even have my eyes on a flight from my local airport to Bristol Airport which is even cheaper than the train – even taking into account that I’d need to hire a car at the other end.

Make time for blogger friends more

I have some amazing friends who I met through blogging and who I consider to be real-life friends and not just people who live in my laptop. 😉  I want to spend more time with them this year (which is part of the reason I booked the blogger retreat) and even though I know it might not be easy as some of my friends live a fair distance away, I really want to try and make the effort to be there more.

Spend more time with my camera

I’m not the greatest photographer but I’m enjoying mastering the craft!  I’ve realised how important it is to me to be able to spend time regularly just taking photos for no other reason other than pure enjoyment.

Share some of my knowledge

I’m not a top blogger by any means but I’m a bit of a dinosaur in the blogging world as I’ve been blogging for a good while now and I’ve learned a lot along the way. I’d like to find a way to share my knowledge with some newer bloggers in the hope that I can help them to love blogging as much as I do.  I just need to find a way to do that without coming across as a know-it-all. 😉

Stop feeling conflicted

For the last few years, I’ve felt a little conflicted as a lot of bloggers in my position are at the point where they’re considering leaving their main job to pursue blogging as a full-time career but that’s not something I want to do.  I felt for a long time like it was something that I should want to do but I really don’t want to blog full-time as I love doing it now and feel like if it was a job, I would lose that love for it.  Does that make sense?

Obviously, it helps that I have a job that I love but at the moment, I’m happy with things the way they are so I’m not going to worry about how I possibly should be feeling and concentrate on how I am feeling.

Keep having fun

Not blogging full-time does mean that I have the luxury of only doing what I want to do when it comes to blogging which I know makes me extremely lucky.  I’m not going to do anything that doesn’t make me happy.
