#shareyourgoal to win £5000….

Do you have a goal in life?

When I was in my twenties, my goal was to be the perfect wife and mother successfully juggling a career and my Family.

By the time I’d hit my thirties, I’d lost my Mam and my brother and I’d realised just how important spending time and making memories with my family was to me.  This meant less focus on my career on more on my home life and I was OK with that.  I didn’t really have a life plan or a specific goal other than to enjoy my family as much as I could because I’d learned that you need to enjoy every single day in this life.

Now I’m closing in on my forties, I feel as though my priorities are shifting again and I want to focus a little bit more on me.  I will always be here for my family, that’s not going to change at all, but at the same time I think I can now balance that with doing some of the things that I want to Achieve with my own life.

For the first time in my life, a couple of weeks ago I actually sat down and wrote down what I want to achieve in my life and more importantly, how I’m going to achieve it.  I want to share my goals with you today because I’m a big believer that Sharing a goal or a target is the best way to achieve it – I feel like I’m more accountable for achieving my goals just because I’ve shared them on here with you all.

Travel

This was the first of my big goals and I’m well on my way to achieving this one with our trip to New York in a couple of weeks and our trip to Milan in May.  I used to travel a lot with my family when I was younger and I have some amazing memories of the places we went and I want that for my children.  We’ve never traveled too much when the kids were younger as they burn too easily to go anywhere hot and anywhere other than the usual holiday resorts didn’t really occur to us but our travel goals include Munich, Paris, Berlin and Amsterdam so we’re saving pretty hard to be able to afford all the plans I’m making.

Money

I would like to start my fortieth year feeling like I have a total hold over all things financial!  This will involve being debt free (apart from our mortgage) and making inroads to paying off our mortgage early.  I’ve split this into smaller goals to make this more manageable and I’ll share more about that with you over the coming months as I share my progress in my monthly goal’s posts.

Me

I’ve recently done something I’ve wanted to do for a lot of years as part of my goal to do more ‘me’ things – I’ve signed up to do a degree qualification in Business Management!  I’ve started it already and although I know it’s not going to be easy I think I’ll be able to do manage it along with everything else I want to do with some careful planning.

I’ve also mentioned about a million times how much I love taking photos so I’m investing my time into doing more of that and more creating for the sake of it as I shared last week.

So that’s my life goals at the moment!

As I said, I hope that by sharing them with you, I’m going to be more accountable for actually achieving them – especially my financial goal because you all encourage me so much in all aspects of my life with your lovely comments and emails.

Zurich is running a competition right now where four lucky people will win £5000 to put towards their life goal.  It’s so easy to enter too – you just need to have a think about what your goal is and then write a description, take a photo or film a video that shares your goal.  Then just share it on their Facebook page or by tweeting them,  using the hashtag #shareyourgoal

The winners will be notified by the 17th April.  You can find out more here and maybe by sharing your goal like I have, you’ll be more likely to achieve it!

I’m planning on sharing a photo of Miss Frugal in New York as my entry when we get back from our trip.
