Finally, I am not working on a day that is beautiful. Seems that any great weather thus far this year has only occurred when I am at work and indoors. Even when it has looked nice, by the time I have arrived home from work – it begins raining. Today has been really good.
And as I am still combatting flu and recovering from hives, I have done a little indoors and then sat outside, then done a little more indoors and then back outside etc etc. It has been a relaxing day and god knows, I needed it.

Got my windshield fixed today too. The fellow came right to the house and did it in the driveway. One hour. It was really bad. I got hit last summer by a golfball size rock when some idiot in a dumptruck wandered onto the Gravel Shoulder. I saw it coming and ducked and everything. It was so bad that bits of glass even flew into the car. If it hadn’t deflected off the wiper, I think it would have come straight through. I should have fixed it by now, but, I have been hit so many times since. Touch wood I can avoid this for awhile now.
Drivers that don’t pay attention and drift onto the gravel shoulder – YOU deserve payback! Do you know what their tires are spewing at the traffic stuck behind you. Idiots!! Get off your goddamn cell phone if you can’t talk and drive at the same time. If you aren’t on your cell phone, stop looking for whatever it is you can’t find in the car right now. Pull over and look. And if that isn’t the reason you are wandering all over the place, it must be you are sightseeing while you drive. Passengers get to sightsee, not drivers. Keep your eyes on the goddamn road because poor suckers like me are stuck behind you and don’t deserve the consequences of YOUR actions or inattention.
Okay, I am done now.
On another note, I am making a bit of a career change. Just part time for now, mind you, as I do need my full time job, but I am very very excited about this and as soon as I finish with being sick, can’t wait to get going. I will keep you updated as this progresses.
Of course I still run my own part time business and have kept the same clients now for almost four or five years and they continue to throw me work but, once I do the majority of it, they really only need maintaining. It is great but never going to really generate the income I need.
Raising four kids by myself financially has left me in debt (but I would still do it all again), and being self employed for more than half my working life will maybe give me enough of a pension to live in a tent in a park somewhere so………….something has to change. I was seriously considering (and may still) go to University for 3 years and obtain my Bachelor of Commerce and my CMA designation. But, it will cost me $21000, and it may take four years (because the high school seems to have lost my transcript ^^) and when it is all said and done, upon graduation, my salary will start somewhere in the neighborhood of $75 – $80000. (not including the time I spent on courses that could have been spent working and earning an income.
This new opportunity seems to have the ability to generate alot more income in alot less time. Even if it takes me three years to make half the money most people are making – I would be supremely happy. So, I am going to give it a whirl and see how it goes.
I do not want to be 65 working in a Tim Hortons (no offense to those that are), but that just isn’t going to be me. I have worked too hard and am too smart for that. But, I can’t wait for something to fall in my lap so I am going to do something about it.
I want to vacation in Belize this year – and nothing is going to stop me from doing that. Boyfriend doesn’t want to go (I can’t figure this out) – so I will go solo, just like when I went to Cuba.
Might have to do something about doing everything solo soon. If I do everything solo, maybe I just should be!! Hope you all are having just as fine weather as I this weekend. Enjoy (and don’t catch the flu!!)
