I know I’ve written a few posts on the subject of Retin-A and it’s use and contra-indications but I haven’t given much advice on where you can get it if you are in the UK.
Do I Need a Prescription to Buy Retin-A in the UK?
There are places you can get it in the UK where you will need a Prescription. The problem is that if you want to get it here then you will probably need to see a dermatologist and although that’s common place in the States, it isn’t so here.
If you suffer from acne then you will probably be given a prescription for tretinoin, but if you are wanting it for anti-ageing then you are very unlikely to have your wish granted.
Buying Retin-A Online
There are a few online sources that have been reliable in the past. SkinCareFX for example. Although I used to get mine from this site, I don’t now as they have stopped using Paypal and card payments. When I last checked, you could only use Google Wallet. I didn’t want to do this as it’s more of a personal money transfer service.
Ebay
Yes it’s okay to buy it via ebay! I think people get put off by the fact that it’s coming from India, Malaysia, Tailand etc… but really, there is no need to worry. As long as you pay via Paypal then you are covered for non-delivery and to be fair, I have never had an issue with an ebay seller.
Very occasionally you can buy 1% Retin-A from UK sellers via Ebay, but you have to bag it quick before the listing gets taken down. There’s nothing wrong with the product, but Ebay have a policy NOT to list 1% due to the strength of it. I have bought it this way however and it’s great because it turns up in a couple of days.

It’s always listed as Retinol rather than retinoid, but again, that’s due to the fact that there’s a chance it will be taken down otherwise.
Note Of Caution: Be careful when using Tretinoin. It’s strong. I suggest starting with 0.025% for a few months first.
