Join us on this on 16th November for our free webinar to hear about our successful ‘Dementia Adventure in a Box’ project, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, where we supported partner organisations to set up outdoor adventure activities for people with Dementia in their locality.  Click here to register.

Who Is This Webinar For?

This session is open to anybody with an interest in nature, connection and dementia.  It will be of interest to individuals looking to support people with dementia to get outdoors including staff and volunteers at green space organisations, care farms, care homes, carer groups and other organisations providing support.

The Panel

Lorraine Brown is a Dementia Ambassador. She has a background in mental health work at Medway Maritime Hospital, Kent. She works closely with Medway Dementia Action Alliance, as a panelist on the Three Nations Dementia Working Group fortnightly Webinars and champion’s the message of spending time in nature. Lorraine has dementia and lives independently, with support of friends and family.

Sarah McCormack is the Live at Home Community Programme Coordinator, Methodist Homes Association in Leeds. She will talk about how they delivered an intergenerational programme of nature experiences drawing on forest schools skills .  

Gerry Fouracres manages the farm and activities programme at Scrubditch Care Farm, Gloucestershire.  She will highlight how they successfully involved people living with dementia and their key supporters in everyday farm activities.

Paula Nelson coordinated the National Lottery Community Fund ‘Dementia Adventure in a Box’ project for Dementia Adventure 2017 to 2020.

Kath Pyke is a Project Coordinator for Dementia Adventure, and draws on 20 years experience of working in the environment sector on community engagement, and nature connection. She works with Dementia Adventure developing partnership outdoors and nature-based projects. 

Debbie Anderson is a Project Coordinator for Dementia Adventure. She joined Dementia Adventure in 2015 and draws on a background of working with the Alzheimer’s Society and supporting family carers.
