Stupid Superstitions

I do not believe you.
Walk under ladders with black cats
for all I care
your luck is not affected by my universe.
My fate is only affected by my belief.

And mine alone.
(they say while looking up).

Only fools and failures
fear to listen to the logic
of the universe
but not me.

Not me
(out of the corner of their eye).

Thirteen is but a number
and mirrors are fragile
both break down eventually
until there is only one.

Only me.
(duck away and dare not say it).
