What's In My Makeup Bag...

I thought long and hard about how I can post something that people find interesting and can relate to, Usually I post things that have a lot of emotion and on this post I wanted to take a step back and really enjoy what I write and make it more about 'my life'.

What's In My Makeup Bag

As probably most of you do, I have more than one makeup bag. Like sometimes I might only take 2 or 3 products with me somewhere. So I don't really want to bring a massive makeup bag with me. Though my fav makeup bag is one that I got from Michael Kors in Florida, America. This bag was in the sale and was $30 which was AMAZING considering it is real Michael Kors.

My number 1 product I have to have in my makeup bag is my Tarte spellbound glow rainbow highlighter. This highlighter looks so cute and is from Tarte - I mean how much better can you get? IT SMELLS OF VANILLA - I know I know; why am I smelling makeup, but in the shop they told me it smelled like vanilla and I just had to try it out! I mean Tarte is something I can't live without and when I get one of their products I just get so excited. I would seriously recommend to anyone who wants a highlighter that catches the light and blends in well. To get this magical highlighter click here

I know I keep on going on about this (you will literally want to kill me after this) but I have to have my e.l.f aqua primer mist (told you that you would be annoyed)! If you have seen my previous posts you will know how much I love this mist - it has literally changed my makeup life. Haven't you noticed that all of these things I've mentioned are American. Onto makeup Brushes, with me it is ALL about the brand and look. If I don't know the brand then I will NOT buy the brushes. I have so many brushes but only 2 brands - the Body Shop and (once again) Tarte. I have 1o brushes in my makeup bag - 5 Tarte brushes and 5 Body Shop brushes. Personally I prefer my Tarte brushes, the brush handle is shaped like a unicorn horn in rose gold (my favourite colour)! They are super soft and their appearance is just so eye-catching. These brushes came as a set of 5 for £31 but sadly you cannot purchase these any more as they were limited time only.  My body shop brushes are really easy to use plus they don't test on animals like Tarte which I really like. These brushes have great online reviews which is a good way to determine if the brush is right, I also used it before I purchased it so I knew how it feels and the texture of the brush. To see all of The Body Shop brushes click here.

My Brushes:
1 pink powder brush - Tarte
3 eyeshadow brushes: 1 green coloured blending eyeshadow brush - Tarte, 1 blue coloured shading eyeshadow brush - Tarte, 1 eyeshadow brush - The Body Shop (click here)
3 foundation brushes: 1 purple foundation brush - Tarte, 1 fresh nude foundation brush (click here)- The Body Shop and 1 foundation brush - The Body Shop (click here)
1 highlighter brush - The Body Shop (click here)
1 blusher brush - The Body Shop (click here)
1 magenta contour brush - Tarte

I love this mixture of brushes because I can change them depending on my makeup look. These are all affordable prices, I would highly recommend to anyone that wants great brushes for a cheapish price than leading brands.

I used to carry around 2 foundations in my makeup bag because I couldn't decide which one I preferred. Though now (eventually(, I have decided that my #1 foundation is my Maybelline Satin Liquid (omg I keep on mentioning things on repeat in these posts)! You would know if you saw last Saturdays post that I do love this foundation- the coverage is clean and doesn't go cakey. It is affordable which is a huge bonus and to purchase click here.

My powder is the Collection Powder in Translucent, this is good because it is a pressed powder and is £1.99 in retail stores. I'll be honest with you I bought this ages ago because of its price - no wait- I went shopping with an old 'friend' and she picked it up and told me to get it (then I knew NOTHING about makeup)! But since then I found that my best friend loves the powder and I have grown to love it too. It is easy to apply and don't wear away after 5 minutes. To see this powder click here.

The most important thing in my makeup bag is my mascara, I usually read up before I purchase a mascara. I mean when someone talks to you they address your eyes - you DON'T want them to be drawn to clammy eyes, black circles of mascara - you know what I mean. So I bought Maybelline's lash sensational mascara for £7.99. I mas amazed by how great this mascaras was. I mean it stayed vibrant the whole day. it didn't fade, or run or go clammy & stick together. My lashes was coated evenly which if like a massive YES!! I am so fussy when it comes to mascara (I am
bad, I know), and finding a good one was amazing. To see my favourite mascara click here.

Now I have a variety of eyeshadows (I usually borrow my mums- sorry about that)! But I keep going back to my Superdry pallet. I got this for Christmas and I was surprised about how good the shades were. A dark metallic black shadow, a gold sparkly shadow and a matte grey shadow are in the pallet. What I like about this was that it also came with a bronzer (which I don't use) and a blush. The shadows are easy to blend together and can produce so many quick and effected looks. I love the contrast in colours as well though you can't buy this anymore sadly but other Superdry products are out there to buy.

My total cost of all my makeup products, brushes and bag comes to a total of £178.91 - I mean WHAT!!! To me that is SO unexpected - I thought just over 100 because of the brush prices but nothing on this scale! If I included all of my other makeup I have in my room it would easily be over £200.

How much does all of your makeup cost and are you surprised by the amount?

I really loved writing this as it is focusing on my life and what I love. This is what I am going to do more often like my Superdrug haul. Of course I will continue posting my lifestyle posts by this type of written is just so much more 'me'.
