EXPERIENCE WITH FOSTERING A PUPPY

Tags: love dog foster

I have been missing my dogs so much. It has been hard. I grown up with pets, all my life I was surrounded by them. I guess that made me Love animals even more.

But no animal ever compared to my love for dogs. I do not know why. Maybe because they are adorable, beautiful, loyal and loving creatures who see nothing else but you. They are my family.

So I was missing them so much that I decided that I need a dog to take care of. Here in Budapest they have an organization called FAPF foster parents which can be found on FACEBOOK and which help homeless cats and dogs find forever or temporary homes. So I became a foster parent. Choosing a dog was pretty difficult. Eventually, we chose a 7 month old German Sheperd mix girl named Lena. I knew she was already adopted and had to leave on May 20th but still I wanted to give her some love now so she wouldn’t stay alone in those damn shelters.

She came and was very shy at first. With time, she got very attached and loving. However, it was pretty difficult to deal with her since she is a big very energetic dog and our apartment is so tiny for her so she just goes and destroys things which we had a big problem with.

I never had to deal with a large dog. All my life, the dogs I raised were small and never really caused any problems but this girl was a trouble maker. Sadly, we got attached a lot. After a week we needed to go back to work and I was scared to leave her alone for an entire day. So we found her a babysitter who might possibly take her as a foster later on which made me happy and sad at the same time.

Currently, she is with her babysitter and I really hope she can have a happy life in her new home. The hardest part with pets is that if you get attached it is so difficult to let go. They stay in your heart for days and most of the time all your lives.

This about it this way, if you foster a pet, you can help them feel love, attention and prepare them for their forever home. Even if it is for a little while. It is worth giving someone love rather than letting them stay locked up in a cage.

I would like to tell everyone, to be responsable. If you are adopting a pet , make sure you have enough to provide for him and not to abandon him when he needs you the most. Also, don’t shop – adopt! There are so many little ones who need our help and support. Every penny, every visit can save someone’s life. So think about it.

I do want a dog so much but I know that with the current living conditions and my time schedule I cannot fully take care of someone so I am holding it off and waiting until I am fully happy and can make someone just as happy part of my family life.

That’s all for now.

xoxo, AD.
