My Most Embarrassing Crush Story

Hi, guys! Sorry that I haven’t posted for a while. Hopefully, I’m still alive!  This post is gonna be a little awkward to write, but here goes!

So, we all have crushes at some point in our lives, right? Even if we have only known them for, perhaps a year? Maybe even only a week.

I had a crush in primary School for around the last 2 years before I left. I liked him a lot; he was funny, cute, athletic and overall great fun. Writing this, I haven’t spoken to him in around 6 months. Yes, 6 months. He now goes to a private specialist dance school which I could never get into in a million years as I cannot dance to save my life. I do see him occasionally, like when I go to pick my younger brother up from school with my parents, and he does the same. Let’s just call him… Matthew.

Ok, now on to the story.

In Year 6 in Primary School, we did a project about Bread making. At the end, we made a loaf of bread in groups of 2 – 4ish. Ok, so me and my best friend had decided to make a flatbread. She had gone out for a music lesson so I was alone, making the dough. Matthew comes up and asks if he can be in our group, seen as there was no one in his class that he could be in a group with as he wasn’t here when they decided the groups.

Ok, as you can imagine at this point my heart was basically thudding away so hard I thought he could hear it. Of course, I managed to stutter out a ‘Yeah, sure’. So we go about, continuing to make the dough, adding yeast, water, salt etc… Oh, my god, this bit is sooo cliche, but as we do, our hands keep touching and we keep just looking up at each other.

After about 5 minutes, my best friend comes back into the room and basically freezes in the doorway. Matthew doesn’t even see her until she comes up in front of us and says hi. I tell him that she was in my group too and he’s totally cool about that. I see her give a ‘What?’ look, as she knows I like him. I basically just winked. Oh, my, god, I feel so embarrassed at this!

She asks how we are going with the bread. I tell her that we have added in all the ingredients like flour, water, salt and yeast like the recipe said. She basically yelled at me when she heard that last ingredient. APPARENTLY, we weren’t supposed to add yeast as that would make the bread rise too much. She was just going on and on and on at me, whilst Matthew just stood there, trying not to laugh at the panicked look on my face.

In the end, my bread worked out fine. I don’t think either of theirs did though. I could never prove it worked and its still a joke between me and my best friend. And you know what the ironic thing is?

I got the flatbread recipe from her uncle!

Hope you liked this post!
