Tips to Stay Calm and Happy During the Holidays

WAYS TO STAY CALM AND HAPPY DURING THE HOLIDAYS

During the holidays, it’s easy to turn into the Grinch. From all of the Stress and worry about finding the perfect gifts, having your home decorated perfectly, the recipes and planning it’s very easy to find yourself way too stressed out and end up not enjoying the holidays from all of the stress. So, here are my tips on ways to stay calm and happy during the holidays so you can remain calm and get sh** done!

  1. Don’t forget to breathe and take breaks.
During the holidays we always think we have to get it all done at one time, you don’t! Take your time with it you have 24 days in the month. Just take a break for a minute and a day to yourself to just relax. So just sit back, enjoy some Christmas movies and spend time with your family and don’t stress so much about it. Holidays were meant to enjoy and celebrate not spend the whole month stressed out!

2. Make lists of things you need to do to keep you organized.
This will help relieve a ton of your stress and keep you calm. If you have lists of things you need to do your more determined to get it all done. Plus, what’s more, satisfying than crossing something off of a to-do list? Nothing, especially not that last task on the list that’s the best one!

3. Use stress relievers.
Whatever your reliever is whether it be writing, music, cleaning, even a good bubble bath/hot shower, if it helps use it. It can help get you through the holidays and into a better mood!

4. Spend more time with family and friends.
Whether it be decorating, shopping, wrapping gifts, or just grabbing something to eat together just spend time with them. It will relieve so much stress on you and help you remain calm and happy and have a good time this holiday season.

5. Decorate!
One of the most fun things to do during the holidays is decorating my house I LOVE decorating my house for Christmas. Literally, it’s so fun to do but it’s even better to see the end result like I just absolutely love doing it and I know I’m not the only one. It’s just so fun and such a stress reliever honestly I cannot express it enough how much fun it is to decorate for any holiday but especially this one!

6. Get everything ahead of time.
Go at the beginning of the month and grab everything you need to get! This way you can spend the rest of the month and holiday only decorating, spending time with family, etc. and you don’t have to worry or stress about everyone grabbing everything up and the stores running out of things you want and need for the holidays!

7. Coffee is a life saver.
When you need to get a ton done and are on zero energy, it will only bring you down more. Before you head out to deal with 20 or more tasks make sure you get that caffeine intake because I know it’s saved me a plenty of times during the holidays.

8. Try to order online more often than shopping in stores.
This tip can honestly save you a lot of time, energy, and possibly even money. Shopping online will take the hassle off of you to head into all those different stores because you can just shop with the touch of your finger and not even have to leave your house!

9. Don’t forget to relax.
If you find yourself stressing way too much, please don’t forget to relax. The holidays tend to get the best of us and it’s never good. Always remember to sometimes just sit back, relax, and remember what Christmas is all about. Not the gifts, food, or anything. Call up a friend or family member have a laugh, watch a funny movie or video, just don’t forget to sit back and take a deep breath every now and then.
