Kids Getting Bored? Summer Activity Ideas You Can All Try #CP

Kids can get bored pretty easily when there’s a long Summer holiday ahead! Even with all the entertainment they have access to, they might come to you in a couple weeks and say those two dreaded words: ‘I’m bored!’ And when a moment like this arrives, you’ve got to be ready! You need to have a few Activity ideas up your sleeve, that you can whip out like magic to make the boredom go away. Here are a couple ideas to get down on paper before the complaints roll in.

Weekly Picnics Will Be Super Fun!

Picnics are lovely to do as a family; who doesn’t enjoy digging into delicious treats? And when you can get out of the house for dinner, and you don’t have to set the table or wash up afterwards, nothing can dampen the fun mood either!

Get a good picnic basket that’s big enough for flasks as well as the food, get a large and soft picnic blanket to sit on, and then picnic out in a different location each week. No matter where you decide to go, be sure to scout out in advance. Going for a picnic is a popular activity so you might have to get there early!

Buy Some Scooters and Head Somewhere with Space

Scooters are great for kids to use, as they’re safer and easier to master than a bike. They also tend to be cheaper if you’re on a budget!

So, get a scooter or two for the kids to use, invest in some Scooter Helmets, knee and elbow pads, and then hit the park or a quiet road where you can practice using them. This is a fun activity for the whole family, as you can have racing competitions, spend time in nature together, and soak up some of the amazing summer weather.

And if the kids are able to use their scooter at least once a week, they’re going to get pretty good at various tricks as well. They can soon put on a talent show for you in the back garden!

Use Your Imagination in the Garden

This isn’t just about gardening. After all, the outside world is a playground for the imagination. You’ve just got to make the activities interesting. And trust us, that’s very very easy!

You can ask the kids to make characters out of fallen leaves, grass, and daisies picked from the ground. You can ask them to imagine what kind of creatures live in the trees and ask them to draw them. Tell them to think about how small they might be, and what their homes or pets might look like. Provide the materials and the kids will run with it.

When the kids get inevitably bored during the long summer period, try out a few new things. Get their brains in gear and see what you can all come up with. Who knows, you could find your new favourite activity to do as a family!
