#51 Vapiano – A little bit of Italy in Edinburgh

Have you ever wanted to go to the Restaurant not only to enjoy food but for the whole experience far from busy city life? Well, Vapiano is in the heart of the Edinburgh but once you enter the restaurant you feel like the chaos behind you doesn’t exist. You all know that I love trying new things, visiting new places and for me experience is the most important to live your life fully. I’ve never been to a restaurant like Vapiano before.

From the outside, you may think that it’s another restaurant like the rest around but when you enter you automatically knows you’re day is going to be better. It works differently as well. You get a card, then you walk around to the stands that interests you the most. I took my friend with me and for a starter we shared Brushetta Gamberetti. I must say that prawns were cooked to perfection. Soooo delicious!

Then we had a main meal. We chose to go for pasta. So, you walk to the pasta stand and then you start personalising your meal! Yes, it sounds great already, isn’t it? The pasta is made in front of you, nothing is frozen there except ice cream. If you are unsure what you want, the chefs are there to help and explain the dishes in more detail.

For the Dolci I chose Crema di Fragola which is mascarpone cream with fresh strawberries. It’s perfect to add a Strawberry Bellini to enjoy your Dolci even more.

I wouldn’t be myself if I didn’t mention the interior! From the first sight you may think that it’s one of the many modern restaurants but in fact it’s not. The restaurant is modern, subtly decorated & with two 100 years old real olive trees! The trees are impressive, stylish and brings the perfect Italian atmosphere. I knew I will be back often to Vapiano and made it the meeting place for me and my friends. I also want to mention prices as this is important too. Honestly, it’s not expensive. The coffee is much better and cheaper than a typical Starbucks or Cafe Nero coffee. The food is not expensive either considering the amazing quality & ingredients used. The prices are really comparable to the frozen, microwaved food that you get at the pubs… Basically, they’re almost the same. And for me, the quality is the most important when I go out to eat.

Have you ever been to Vapiano? It’s new in Edinburgh & Glasgow but they’re located in various countries around the world, including my home country Poland (in Wroclaw – my home city, Lodz and Warsaw)! Do you want more restaurant reviews? Let me know on my Instagram –> U.LadyCleopatra
