Amy Schumer Shares A ‘Post-Baby Annoying Post’ That Is Anything But

If you thought Pregnant Amy Schumer was great, Mom Amy Schumer is even better

New mom Amy Schumer is, like any brand-new mom, obsessed with her little bundle of joy. And we’re obsessed with how obsessed she is — and without skipping a beat in her delightful humor. Her most recent Instagram post features her sweetly cuddling her son, Gene, and offers a huge thanks to her doula and birthing team.

While Schumer describes her photo as a “post-baby annoying post,” it’s not at all annoying. It’s earnest, it’s funny, and its also pretty badass. “K here’s my post-baby annoying post and my takeaway from pregnancy,” she captions the photo. “Women are the shit. Men are cool and whatever but women are fucking warriors and capable of anything.”

Ok here’s my post baby annoying post and my takeaway from pregnancy. Women are the shit. Men are cool and whatever but women are fucking warriors and capable of anything. I was lucky enough to get to have a doula. Her name @domino_kirke @carriagehousebirth what do doulas do? I don’t totally know But what she did was make me and Chris feel totally secure and supported throughout my pregnancy and the birth process. I really recommend getting one if you can. Doctor Brill and all the nurses and pediatricians at Lenox Hill and all the other hospitals i spent time in this year, thank you for everything. I did Pilates with strong women and went for walks. I threw up violently and felt sick mostly every day of my pregnancy. Hyperemesis is real and it’s awful. But fuck, what they say is true. The second you give birth it’s gone. @hgmoms has the best research I found on the condition The only thing that helped me with my nausea was products from @thelordjones I learned that globally 1 in 5 births take place without the assistance of a skilled birth attendant. @everymomcounts is a great place to donate $250 equips a midwife with a bag of medical equipment needed to provide care to hundreds of women and babies in Guatemala. All my friends. Friends I’ve had for 30 years or people who encouraged me to “keep going” or telling me “it will be worth it”. Thank you. Every woman I encountered is so willing to help and advise you and I felt all their strength. And you were right. Thank you ladies from my family. Chris, Gene and of course Tatiana #titsleaking #wearingadiaper

She calls special attention to her doula, Domino Kirke, for offering support to Schumer and her husband, Chris Fisher, throughout the birthing process. “What do doulas do? I don’t totally know But what she did was make me and Chris feel totally secure and supported throughout my pregnancy and the birth process.”

Honestly, that’s what doulas are for — support, guidance, and reassurance. It sounds like Schumer’s doula hit the trifecta on all three of those things. She also thanked her doctor and the nursing staff at Lenox Hill, the hospital where she delivered.

Well, after stopping by the Met Gala first, as you do.

“And all the other hospitals I spent time in this year, thank you for everything,” Schumer continues. She spent the entirety of her pregnancy suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum — the most intense pregnancy-related sickness there is. “I threw up violently and felt sick mostly every day of my pregnancy,” she says. “Hyperemesis is real and it’s awful. But fuck, what they say is true. The second you give birth it’s gone.”

She tags HG Moms in her post, a support group for moms with hyperemesis. She also suggests donating to Every Mother Counts, a non-profit organization dedicated to making pregnancy and childbirth safe for every mother, everywhere. She also thanks her friends for their ongoing support throughout her (extremely tough) pregnancy.

“All my friends,” she continues. “Friends I’ve had for 30 years or people who encouraged me to ‘keep going’ or telling me ‘it will be worth it.’ Thank you. Every woman I encountered is so willing to help and advise you and I felt all their strength. And you were right.”

And, because she’s Amy Schumer and gives us a million reasons to love her with every new motherhood-related post, she signs off with “#titsleaking #wearingadiaper.” See? Motherhood may change you, but not completely.
