The First Poster For The All-Female ‘Ocean’s 8’ Is Complete Perfection

Ocean’s 8 is all the girl power we need right now.

2017 has been a rough, rough year for Women. Between the steady stream of horrifying sexual abuse allegations and ongoing attacks on our reproductive rights, we could all use a break right about now. Thankfully, Sandra Bullock, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna and a few other leading ladies we love heard our prayers, and are about to make things just a little less crappy.

The first poster for the all-female Ocean’s 8 has been released, and it’s pure, fierce, girl power gold. No, seriously, it will make you want to put on a pair of shades immediately, and saunter around town in the edgiest outfit you own. Sure, that might just be your Good Yoga Pants and a pretty scarf, but whatever. Own it.

The film, which lands in theaters on June 8, 2018, stars basically all of our imaginary best friends (hi Mindy Kaling AND Sandra Bullock). Ocean’s 8 isn’t a prequel to the Ocean’s franchise, but rather a complete spin-off of its own. The story is set in New York City, and follows Debbie Ocean (Bullock), the sister of Danny Ocean (George Clooney).

Debbie has just gotten out of jail, and is planning a major jewelry heist at the Met Gala. She enlists Lou (Cate Blanchett), Nine Ball (Rihanna), Amita (Kaling), Constance (Awkwafina), Rose (Helena Bonham Carter), Daphne Kluger (Hathaway) and Tammy (Sarah Paulson) to help her pull off the crime.

Along the way, they run into a ton of A-list stars playing themselves, including James Corden, Kendall Jenner, Kim Kardashian annnnd Anna Wintour. Is your head spinning from all this name dropping? Good. There is literally nothing more thrilling than a bunch of cool celebrities jammed into one movie together.

Sadly, because this is the world we live in, there was a bunch of backlash about the idea of an all-female spin-off. The critics were pretty much the same internet trolls who were pissed off about the Ghostbusters reboot. They took to Twitter to complain about the movie, and just generally bemoaned women reclaiming a male-dominated story.

This nonsense didn’t particularly get to Bullock.

“I’ll tell you, we’ve got some feisty women that will fight right back. It’s like, let’s just take a breath, and let’s just see if we come up with something fun,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “There should be a moratorium. There should be a rule, you’re not allowed to say anything nasty until after it comes out. Obviously, that’s never going to happen.”

So, basically, the lesson here is that we should all be so lucky to have Sandra Bullock fighting in our corner. Also, if it’s not too much to ask, bring Rihanna along too.
