Grandma teaser

My Grandmother, who I only remember in a shadow or two (she passed when I was 3) taught in a 1-room Schoolhouse for many years, then retired. In retirement she took up art, specifically painting, and by all appearances was quite prolific. She even graced the pages of the local papers for her work and at some point I'll maybe share some of those clippings here. For now you'll just have to be happy with some pictures of some of her work that now hang on our walls. Oh, and some other stuff just because.

This was the view from the back porch of the Farm house we lived in until I was 6 1/2 as portrayed by Grandma. Every time I look at it I'm taken back to those fun and exciting years, a young boy on a farm can be an incredible adventure. Moving from there to the suburbs was, at best, a nightmare. In contrast it was a nightmare for Mom to be forced to live on a farm again. Anyhow, this was the barn:

Here is a sky-view we just happened to have on hand:
We have no idea where this was or if it even looked like this, Grandma didn't leave any notes but we do know that sometimes she painted a subject and sometimes she painted composites of multiple subjects.

Now for an extra. Our current house was originally a one room schoolhouse that we have traced back to the 1850's, we roughly figure it was around in 1853 but every few years we find evidence that makes it older so who knows? Queenie had the print below made from an original picture and with the final designantion for the school:
These are some recently found pictures of my Father. This was the first time we had any indication he wore glasses, he never used them in my memory but apparently needed them as a youth.
Another couple Grandma specials:

We have so much more and when I dig out the un-framed pictures again maybe you'll get some more examples.
