In the end only some of the family made it into town, thankfully. Several chose, out of an abundance of Fear, to stay home. The young, the able, the less likely to succumb stayed home, go figure, but they all live in Liberal bastions where they've been lied to and told repeatedly that this is somehow Worse than any pandemic before it when the truth is it SHOULD have been worse but for our advancements and precautions. But in their worlds the politicians have long stayed in power by fear mongering and have no qualms about screwing up an entire generation so long as it results in MORE POWER!!!

Don't get me wrong, we of all know this is serious and have taken sensible precautions but living in a constant police state makes it worse, not better. Anyhow.

Closure was gotten. Not without undue excess drama but now life goes on. 

Juts before that we 'celebrated' Halloween with the pending grandson and one of his best friends, delayed by a month over individual quarantines of various sorts. It seems like we've been accepted even though we missed the first 6 years of his life so that is good. Resurrected the tire swing and a few other things from our daughter's childhoods to make this a more kid-interesting environment and had hay rides and a good fire on the patio. 

Thanksgiving was a joy and relief, had the kids over and grandboy and just had a relaxing taxing stuffing kinda day. Later that week we got together again to do a drive-through Holiday light show which, incidentally, was what we did last year when we first met grandson'. Hard to believe it's been a year and harder to believe it's been almost a year since son-in-law candidate ordered a certified copy of his Birth Certificate so he could graduate from candidate status. His state of USA origin (was an adoptee from a foreign country) is as freaked as any liberal bastion and still can't figure out how to make and send a certified birth certificate copy without violating some rule of lockdown. Insanity.
