Material Love- Beat the Cold

Yikes, I've been neglecting my blog. I blame the weather. It has been so cold in Austin! Thursday a cold front blew in and then it snowed! SNOW! I moved out of Wisconsin to get away from that stuff. But the awesome thing about Snow in Austin means SNOW DAY! Do you know how many nights I prayed for a snow day growing up and still had to go to school? I woke up Friday morning to find out we had a snow day. I took Dixie out to go to the bathroom and found an adorable amount of snow on the ground, adorable. And by 11 it was sunny and beautiful. It was definitely cold though. So there was a lot of hiding inside and baking this week.

When it comes to dressing for cold weather, I kind of have a lot of experience. A number of people were shocked to learn that one could wear TWO pairs of pants and socks. I pretty much lived in multiple layers in Wisconsin. So here's what I wore to beat the cold.

Two of everything, almost.
Two pairs of socks, two pairs of pants (leggings underneath), and a long sleeve under the shirt and sweater!

Dixie approves. She also could not care less what the temperature is outside, she still expects her walks and trips to the park and she gets them!

I am sharing these pictures with you before I redyed my hair, there is about an inch of roots showing, eep.

I have had this sweater forever and I just Love the flower details on the shoulders and arms. I wore leaf earrings that I made and vintage pink necklace that you can't see well in this picture, better in the one above.

I won some super cute scrabble piece hairpins from a friends party, they just happened to be a pink Texas and an acorn, so perfect for me. :)

And of course, today was 60 degrees. Gotta love Texas winter!
(Oops, I'm still having trouble putting that Christmas tree away! It's finally put away now.)
