The Schlagerboys attended Birmingham Gay Pride Ball last night and were very excited to get our first Euroceleb experience of the season in. Hurrah!

Ruth Lorenzo headlined the event and we managed to get right down the front for her performance which was about four songs long and ended with "Dancing In The Rain". We've decided that Spain's song this year is a schlager anthem and completely fabulous. It's got a schlager chorus, ample opportunity for schlager hair flicks and fab waily notes all the way through.

It was vitally important that we got to meet our new schlager icon so we followed an important-looking person round the side of the stage and adopted the old, "We know where we're going and we're supposed to be here" look as we walked past security and somehow found ourselves in her dressing room. OMG!

We told Ruth she was our favourite and she was going to win and that Eurovision would be fab in Madrid next year. Then being very serious and proper journalists we asked her to demonstrate the all important schlager hair flick. Bless her, she obliged. Twice. This makes Ruth Lorenzo our new schlager hero!

We told her we'd see her in Amsterdam next week and she looked a bit worried. She's probably getting restraining orders sorted as we speak. Fabulous!
