The Schlagerboys arrived back in Stockholm yesterday and headed straight for the Eurovillage where there was a "Schlager Evening for Diversity"! We arrived just in time to see Sahlene, who told the crowd to vote for Australia as she is doing Dami Im's backing vocals. Then she launched into "Runaway" and we managed to video the key-change, which, after all is the important bit.
After Sahlene there were various other random Melodifestivalen entrants that we hadn't heard of, but suddenly they introduced Anna Book! Hurrah! Now Anna is a complete schlager icon. She sang her disqualified entry from this year and then went on to do schlager classic "ABC", which she told us was 30 years old. We're hoping that after the schlager disaster of this year's Melodifestivalen disqualification Anna returns next year with a Lord Thomas of G:Son or Sir Fredrik Kempe schlager stomper to trounce the competition.
After Anna Book we decided to go for a Pepsi Max but then Sergey arrived on stage. We didn't bother running to the front as we had had him last weekend. But it was fabulous that he turned up to an event for diversity. It was getting cold then and we hadn't got a jumper so we decided to leave at that point. But two schlager icons and Sergey in the space on an hour was enough to satisfy our schlager cravings.
