The Schlagerboys are reporting live from our front room and OH MY GOD! It's Bulgaria! We ignored Bulgaria for weeks when it was chosen and then suddenly realised how utterly FABULOUS this was about 6 days ago. "If Love Was A Crime" is a proper Eurovision song with build up, double chorus and even a bendy leg dance routine! Amazing!
The performance also looks fab. Apparently Poli has a light up frock, and it looks a bit more exciting than the light up frock worn by the UK last year. For a start it looks like Poli is actually going to move about while it's lit up rather than stand stock still, looking like she's terrified of triggering an electric shock.
We're are reliably informed Poli was in Eurovision before, a couple of years ago but the Schlagerboys have absolutely no recollection of this so we assume her song was rubbish. She's done the right thing and come back with a pop anthem so douze points to Poli and to Bulgaria for doing it properly this time! Hurrah!
