Bruce Soord announced his new solo album ‘Luminescence’, as an indie folk ode to living in the city in modern times. The man behind the prog rock band The Pineapple Thief has made the acoustic guitar the focus of this new album. Mixing in field recordings from various cities he has visited on tour, I’m reminded of fellow folk singer-songwriter Asgier when hearing Bruce’s new single ‘Dear Life’. It showcases the melancholy of Soord’s music beautifully and provides a symphonic edge with a lush sympathetic string arrangement. Yet the lyrics are actually quite positive, declaring not to let life pass you by. In typical Bruce Soord fashion, nothing is ever direct.

The album will be available as a limited edition deluxe 3-disc hardback book version that will contain two CDs and a DVD. The second disc will contain an entire bonus album ‘Our Ship Sails At Dusk’, featuring material that was from the writing sessions over the period of ‘Luminescence’.
