Like The Weeknd, Chris Brown, Miguel, and others, Baby Tate is learning the power Tik Tok has to breathe new life into songs from yesteryear.

Nearly 7 years after the rising rapper-singer released ‘Hey Mickey,’ the tune unexpectedly took off on Tik Tok – a resurgence that’s helped it become her first charting single (having peaked at #40 so far on the main Hip-Hop/R&B chart).

To help it reach even higher heights on that tally and beyond, Tate tapped ‘Tap In‘ star Saweetie to assist on its revamp.

Look inside to hear how they teamed to rework the 1982 Toni Basil classic.

The Saweetie assist comes just weeks after Tate unveiled the song’s official dance video choreographed by Nicole Kirkland.
