Dua Lipa’s ‘Levitating’ Now the Longest-Charting Female Hit in Hot 100 History

Dua Lipa’s unyielding 2020 hit ‘Levitating’ may be at the center of headlines due to multiple lawsuits that allege she swiped the song from uncredited parties, but what isn’t alleged is the tune’s unprecedented success at Billboard.

Over a year-and-a-half after its release, a #16 placement on this week’s Hot 100 has penciled it in history books for a once-thought insurmountable feat.

Details inside:

Two weeks ago we reported Lipa’s ‘Future Nostalgia’ smash – already in record books for being the longest-running top 10 hit by a female (second longest among all acts) in the Hot 100’s 63-year history – was just a couple of weeks shy of holding the record for the longest-charting female-led song overall.

This week, in what marks its 70th week of charting, the song is still listed inside the tally’s top 20. As a result, it bested the 69-week run of Leann Rimes’ gargantuan 1997 hit, ‘How Do I Live,’ to become the longest-running tune by any female act ever.

Here are the numbers that reportedly powered the 70th print of ‘Levitating’ on the hit list.

  • Digital Downloads 2,300 sold
  • Streaming  8.6 million U.S.-based streams
  • Radio Airplay 35.8 million audience impressions
