Halle Berry has signed a seismic new deal with Netflix following the success of her directorial debut ‘Bruised’ – which she also starred in.

It’s been announced that Oscar winner has entered into a multi-picture pact with streamer which will see her star in and produce Netflix feature films.

The news has been trumpeted a week after ‘Bruised’ – which Berry directed and stars in as an MMA fighter – became the #1 film of the week in the US and #2 film worldwide. Per tabulated data, the film racked up 47.7 million hours of watch time in its first five days of availability.
Speaking on the deal, Berry said:
“My directorial debut, Bruised, was a labor of love and I knew that Scott [Stuber] and Ted [Sarandos] would treat it with great care. The Netflix team has not only been collaborative and creative, but extremely passionate and a delight to work with. I am beyond grateful for the partnership and look forward to telling more stories together.”
Stuber, Head of Global Film at Netflix, added:
“There are few people with a career like Halle Berry. She’s an award-winning actress, producer and as audiences saw this past week, she’s an incredible director. We’re thrilled to be in her corner as she delivers power in front of and behind the camera in Bruised and look forward to telling more stories together.”
