When I was in high school in the late 1960s, I played an Imperial.
Recently I have picked up playing again in a local Concert Band, and was able to find an older Imperial (SN 160350, 1945ish) and purchased it.
A local service shop indicated that there was some large tolerance/leakage in the value joints.
Is there somewhere I can go to get this repaired? Is it worth the expense? The sound is a bit whispy when e.g. I use both 1st and 2nd value.
In the meantime I am using a thick valve oil. Specifically Yamaha Synthetic.
I live in the Southern Ontario (Toronto) area of Canada.
Thanks in advance,
Russell
