Do you like monstrous dub grooves, psychedelic space journeying, pounding surf-reggae, electro western disco, 1960s island grooves, tight jungle breaks, flourishes of electronics, and hip hop backbeats? If you haven't seen Holiday Mountain you might not yet know that you do in fact love all of those things. Big Wonder is a new band from Austin, Texas consisting of members Chase Hill (vocals, guitar) Grant Shirley (lead guitar) Chris Applegate (Bass, Vocals) Matt Bradshaw (keyboard, vocals, trumpet) and Drew Brunetti (Drums). Big Wonder is an extension of Hill's music from his previous project, My Milky Way Arms. This new project maintains the whimsical pop sensibility of MMWA while introducing a new breed of sound through the band's instrumentation, being more electromechanical analog and less digital. Hypnotic harmonies, catchy melodies and cleverly arranged rhythmic structures are what you will find at a Big Wonder show. That, and a group of friends having a blast playing music they love, together.
