Rita Moreno, the celebrated artist and EGOT recipient is the focus of the soon-to-be released documentary, Just a Girl Who Decided to Go for It.

Scheduled for a June 18th theatrical release, the production promises to document the quadruple-threat’s perseverance through the struggles of show business, including how she was “very much treated like a sex object.” The film will also follow Moreno’s life in Puerto Rico and the ubiquitous pride she has in her heritage and identity.

Addressing the enormous impact Moreno had on the Hispanic community, Gloria Estefan, Eva Longoria, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Tom Fontana, Morgan Freeman, Mitzi Gaynor, Whoopi Goldberg, Norman Lear, her One Day at a Time costar Justina Machado, Terrence McNally and Karen Olivo also appear in the film.
