Calvin Harris has been on a roll for a while with hot releases such as “One Kiss” with Dua Lipa, “Promises” with Sam Smith and many others, but he’s coming back for more with his Love Regenerator alter ego and a track called “CP-1.” As one of the first recordings from this pseudonym, it’s gotten off to a quick start earning the #1 Breakout position on this week’s Billboard Dance Club Songs chart.
The new offering, being less than two weeks old, is quite different from what the average Calvin Harris listener is accustomed to. Featuring a four-on-the-floor beat, heavy synths, repetitive vocals and more, the Sony Music-released track leans toward being more of a Progressive, or some may even say Acid Techno vibe rather than anything that would typically be heard from the Scotland native on a festival main stage.
“CP-1” is one of two songs that Harris has put out under the Love Regenerator name, but this may signal more tracks along the same lines to come. Stay tuned for more regarding this project and listen to this week’s #1 Breakout track on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart here.
