Cardi B‘s remix of the already funky “Finesse” has been a huge hit since it dropped. The top 40 dance collaboration catapulted up the Dance Club Singles chart from its #47* to #25* making it the power pick and greatest gainer.
The song is dear to Mars’ heart as he tweeted that the video was dedicated to one of his favorite TV shows, and then thanked Keenen Ivory Wayans. The new video pays homage to In Living Color, the sketch comedy series starring the Wayans brothers and other family members that was an iconic Nineties staple. Mars even got some accompaniment from dancers reminiscent of the Fly Girls of In Living Color. Even with the backup dancers, Cardi and Bruno feed off of other’s energy throughout the remix. Don’t forget to watch these two perform at the first Grammy Awards this Sunday at 7:30pm Eastern Time. While we don’t know if they will play this song, we can surely hope they do.
