SpaceX Completes Static-Fire Test for Fourth Starship Mission

On April 5, 2024, SpaceX achieved another milestone in its Starship program by conducting a static-fire test of the Super Heavy Booster that will be used for the fourth test mission. The test, which took place at the Starbase site in South Texas, included photos and videos that were shared on social media for fans and enthusiasts to see.

According to SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, the test was a crucial step in preparation for the upcoming launch, which is expected to take place next month. The Super Heavy booster, when combined with the upper-stage spacecraft, is set to tower at an impressive height of about 400 feet.

Starship, which is being developed to be fully and rapidly reusable for missions to destinations such as Mars, the moon, and beyond, has already undergone several test flights in the past. These flights occurred in April 2023, November 2023, and most recently on March 14 of this year.

In an exciting development, NASA has selected Starship to be the first crewed lander for its Artemis program. The agency plans to use Starship to land astronauts near the moon’s south pole in September 2026, marking a significant milestone in space exploration.

With SpaceX continuing to make progress in its Starship program and with exciting partnerships on the horizon, the future of space exploration looks brighter than ever. Stay tuned for more updates on this groundbreaking mission.
