A Sentimental Journey

Today, I took a stroll down memory lane as some old videos popped up on my phone.

A little wave of nostalgia hit me when I saw videos of Archie opening presents on Christmas day, back when he was just a toddler.

I won’t deny it – it tugged at the heartstrings. Those were truly special days.

Thankfully, the present moments I have with Archie are even better and more joyous.

Speaking of looking at the past, some folks regret not starting the Guitar sooner, but I always say…

It’s never too late…

…And it’s wise to be happy and glad for beginning when you did and that you didn’t leave it until later to learn guitar (many people never even start even though they’d love to).

Today’s bit of sentimentality inspired my latest Podcast.

In this episode, I decided to revisit some of my 10-Second Tips.

These are tips I often release via email on most Fridays.

I thought I’d look back at the very first ones I ever sent and give you pointers in today’s podcast, along with my current thoughts on them and some practical applications.

Here are some highlights from the podcast.

  1. The Magic Number #7: Crucial tips for memory and learning anything new.
  2. Enhancing Your Flow: A simple three-step process to improve the flow of your music.
  3. Getting Started With the Metronome: Super simple ways to use a metronome effectively, unlike the confusing methods many are taught.
  4. The Snowball Effect: Key insights into the power of improving one small thing a day, and having it snowball over time to become bigger and better.
  5. Quick Pinky Improvement: A straightforward tip to enhance your pinkie finger immediately.

We wrap up the episode with what you should aim to do at the end of each practice session, along with how to have an absolute blast with some inspiration thrown in.

Tune in today, enjoy, and truly master those fundamentals for more guitar-playing fun.
