Years of Struggling But This Is How He Learnt His First Song

In a few hours, I’ll be closing down enrolment for the Dan Thorpe Acoustic Academy.

As a polite reminder, if you join before (midnight PST time), you will get the new No Chord Fingerstyle course for free.

You can join HERE.

Anyway, if you’ve struggled for a long time to play songs, here’s some encouragement.

…And it’s from DTAA member Matt who said this to me yesterday:

“Brother Dan! I want to thank you, from the bottom of my heart, because your course finally was what I needed!

You took us through “little chunks”! Easy one and two finger short songs!

And believe me, learning an easy song was what I needed!

Today, I stood up, not looking at the sheet music, and played a song!

Now I have been learning the song for a few days, but I finally got it! And to stand up and play was incredible for me!

I have never done that before! And it’s because of your taking the time to do the small stuff, I finally got it! So, again, thank you from the bottom of my heart!

GOD BLESS you!”

Matt

It’s my pleasure and I’m over the moon for Matt.

It’s a super exciting time for him.

And it just goes to show if you’ve struggled in the past, it can change.

You don’t have to slog away for years and you can change things very quickly.

So how did Matt do it?

By getting my new No Chord Fingerstyle course and taking action.

Teresa is also having fun with the course and this is what she said:

“I am loving this course! This is, in fact, exactly how I taught myself to play classical Guitar pieces and why four or five years into playing I still don’t know chords. (Well, I do now, but only since I started your courses)”. – Teresa

Chords simply aren’t needed to have a lot of fun on the guitar.

I’m not anti-chords, far from it.

…But I am “pro fun”.

This course is all about the fun.

And yes, the method taught does go against the grain of how most modern-day people teach guitar and, in many ways, it is a more classical approach (albeit using more contemporary songs).

I always say the classical world of guitar tuition is far more effective than the typical YouTube “method” (for reasons I’ve explained before).

The problem with the classical world can be the repertoire of songs – most people just don’t “connect” with that many of them.

This course fixes that.

We take the classical style, simplify it, and apply that style to more contemporary and super famous songs.

I must say, it is not a magic bullet or anything like that.

You will still need to practise the tunes with focus and repetition, of course…

But if you do that, like Matt, Teresa, and many others, you may be surprised at just how quickly you will be able to play these songs.

Plus, you get the full breakdown of how to play every note in each of the songs with complete TAB/notation and video instructions.

Anyway, this is the last post I will share about this.

If you want the course for free, you will get it by joining the Academy on the link below.

The deadline is midnight PST time. After that, the cart will close.

I hope to see you in the Academy and inside the new course.

It’s a really exciting time…

You can join the Dan Thorpe Acoustic Academy here

If you join by midnight tonight, you will also get the three new DTAA monthly lessons, which are:

  1. How to play blues lead guitar in a super fun way, starting from super easy and getting progressively harder
  2. My alternative method for rapidly improving your strumming where you get to play along with me in the video and have fun
  3. A fun Two-Minute Challenge (called “10x Picking”) which will help you improve your picking hand accuracy right away.

All these lessons tie into the BIG plan I teach students to help them improve their guitar playing without confusion.

If you want a one-stop solution for learning guitar, the DTAA is the place and the No Chord Fingerstyle mini course is a great introduction to it all.

Here is the link to join the Academy

Have a great Friday
