Frankie Ballard is back on country radio stations across the country this week. His new single “It All Started With a Beer” serves as the lead single off his forthcoming Sophomore Album.

Unlike his first three singles, the track brings out a different sound. It’s softer and produced to show off his vocals rather than big guitars. A subtle acoustic guitar picks it’s way throughout and couples nicely with the toned down drum beat. By the time the final chorus rolls around Ballard has hit his stride vocally and confidently belts out a few lines – something we hadn’t heard on a radio single to date. Overall, it’s solid opener for a Sophomore album that will have to live up to lofty expectations after his debut scored three chart topping hits.
