Photographed by Rainer Hosch, Emmy-nominated starlet Tracee Ellis Ross covers the latest issue of WWD. Ross was recently honored by WWD and Variety at the 2016 Style Makers Awards with the Style Innovator Award for her bold, daring fashion.

"Clothing started as an armor for me," Ross shares with WWD editor Scharf. "It was one of the ways that I protected myself from the world. It evolved into a form of creative expression. I love playing dress-up. Sometimes it creates a great outfit and sometimes it creates a person."

Ross went on to spiel to Scharf how that very "armor" molded her "Black-ish" character 'Dr. Rainbow Johnson', her career as a fashion editor, her favorite designers and much more! Read the cover story here -- http://wwd.com/eye/people/tracee-ellis-ross-stylemakers-10705360/.
