Coldplay Perform With Quadriplegic Fan At Concert

According to the Guardian, Rob O’Byrne, a quadriplegic who uses a wheelchair, shared a memorable experience at a Coldplay Concert in Dublin. Rob, who became a quadriplegic at the age of 17 after a diving accident, is an avid music lover and frequently attends concerts. At the Coldplay concert in 2017, he found himself in the spotlight when two audience members accidentally fell over him while trying to catch large bouncy balls released by the band.

The crowd parted, and the spotlight focused on Rob, who raised his arm in the air. Chris Martin, the lead singer of Coldplay, invited him onto the stage, and security guards initially wanted him to get down, but Chris encouraged him to come up. On stage, Chris asked Rob a few questions, introduced him to the audience, and handed him a harmonica. Chris then improvised a song, and whenever he wanted Rob to contribute, he looked down at him. The moment was exhilarating for Rob, who blew into the harmonica while the crowd cheered.

After the performance, Chris had to return to the main stage, but he gave the harmonica to Rob, which had €50 inside. The story of Rob’s unexpected stage appearance went viral, and he became known as the guy who crowdsurfed at a Coldplay concert. The experience left a lasting impact on Rob, who cherishes the memory of playing on stage in front of thousands of people.
