During a conversation on Kathy Burke’s podcast series, James Blunt recounted an incident involving Blur singer Damon Albarn during an episode of Later… With Jools Holland. He shared that Albarn did not want to be photographed with him, which left Blunt feeling slightly frustrated. The singer-songwriter mentioned that he was not included in the group Photo taken at the end of the show, which usually hangs on the wall of Jools Holland’s studio.

In a lighthearted manner, Blunt also referenced his experience of receiving the Worst Album Award from NME in 2006. He jokingly suggested that he would like his obituary to appear in NME and proposed that the Gallagher brothers be his pallbearers, referring to a playful rumor about himself and mentioning his encounters with Noel Gallagher.

Blunt also addressed Noel Gallagher’s remarks about him moving to Ibiza, claiming that house prices rose after Gallagher left. These humorous anecdotes from Blunt’s podcast appearance added to the singer’s reputation for wit and self-deprecating humor, which he often displays in public appearances and interviews.

“They do this sort of group photo of all the bands at the end… was it Damon Albarn who refused to be in the photograph or didn’t want you in the photograph?” she asked.

“I don’t know exactly. He’s a lovely chap, I’m sure, but he didn’t want me [to be in] the photo of the episode,” Blunt responded.

“Everyone gets the photo and that photo is put up on the wall of the studio, of Jules Holland’s studio,” Blunt added. “For some reason, he didn’t want me in the photo, so I was kept in my dressing room while they took that photo. And then he left and then they got me out for a second photo, but my photo’s not necessarily on the wall.”

Earlier, in his memoir, Blunt had shared heartfelt stories about his close friendship with the late Carrie Fisher, revealing details about their time living together and their deep bond. This revelation from his book had also garnered considerable attention.
