Former Oasis Liam Gallagher recently chopped down trees at his £4million London mansion over fears that they posed a security risk via Daily Mail.

It has been noted that concerns were raised that the Branches of the unruly hornbeams near the edge of the property could be used by intruders to access the sprawling five-bed home in Highgate, North London.

Debbie Gwyther, who purchased the house with the 51-year-old in 2019, applied to Haringey Council in March to have the branches removed because they were protected under Tree Preservation Orders.

The planning documents revealed that the application was made with concerns over ‘trespass/neighbour complaint.’

It stated: ‘Pollard crowns to previous pruning spurs, by sectional lopping and roping down as necessary, removing numerous branches arising from previously pollarded spurs or principal branches.

‘Reason: Trespass/neighbour complaint.’

It is unclear whether a trespassing incident has occurred.

The couple also requested permission to cut back a single salix tree bordering their other neighbour.

The mock Tudor style mansion also backs only a publicly accessible woodland, making security more of a concern.

The house itself is on the council’s heritage list and boasts five bedrooms, several hand carved fireplaces, a study, a ‘bespoke, hand made kitchen-dining room with cold pantry’ and ‘a wealth of original period features’.

Gallagher reportedly left his former home, a £2.1million pad nearby, following arguments with neighbours. Gallagher and Gwyther have been together for ten years, after his marriage to pop star Nicole Appleton fell apart. He has two daughters and two sons with four women.
