Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones recently shared his thoughts on the possibility of John Lennon and George Harrison, members of The Beatles, fitting into The Rolling Stones. In an interview with The Telegraph, Richards discussed the historical rivalry between the bands and their fans.

Richards expressed his belief that neither John Lennon nor George Harrison would have had much trouble fitting into The Rolling Stones. He pointed out that both The Beatles and The Rolling Stones were part of the same generation and shared a love for the same music. When The Rolling Stones first heard The Beatles, they were relieved to find another English band on a similar musical path. According to Richards, that common path soon became the main track for both bands.

In an interview with The Telegraph, Richards also discussed Paul McCartney’s appearance on The Rolling Stones’ upcoming album, ‘Hackney Diamonds.’ McCartney contributed by playing bass on the album track ‘Bite My Head Off.’ Richards explained that McCartney happened to be in town, and they couldn’t resist having one of the Beatles on their track. He praised McCartney as an amiable collaborator and a long-time friend.

“I don’t think John Lennon would have had much problem fitting into the Stones, or George, if you can imagine that sort of thing happening.”

We were the same generation, and we all loved the same music. When we first heard The Beatles, we were relieved that there was some other band in England on the same track that we were on. And within a few months, that track was the main track.”

The Rolling Stones recently discussed their new album, ‘Hackney Diamonds,’ in a conversation with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show. They performed the lead single, ‘Angry,’ during the show. Mick Jagger confirmed that the album contains 12 tracks, with two featuring the late drummer Charlie Watts. The band began working on the new songs in late 2022, aiming to complete the album by mid-2023.

‘Hackney Diamonds’ was recorded in various locations, including studios in Los Angeles, London, the Bahamas, and New York. The album marks The Rolling Stones’ 24th LP, following their blues covers album ‘Blue & Lonesome’ in 2016.
