The Sheffield music festival witnessed a classic Noel Gallagher performance as the legendary frontman headlined with his High Flying Birds. The crowd was treated to a five-star Rock ‘n’ Roll Circus extravaganza, with an unexpected twist that only Noel could deliver.

It’s worth noting that earlier in the evening, Madchester legends Happy Mondays had graced the stage, setting the bar high for what was to come.
Gallagher, ever the provocateur, responded to the chants and boos with a wry smile and a rather colorful rant. “Let it out, let it out. You’ve just been watching f****** Mancunians for the last two hours. What are you booing for?” he quipped. He then added, “You know that nobody gives a s**t about Yorkshire outside of Yorkshire? You know that, don’t you?” This wasn’t the first time Gallagher had engaged in such playful banter; earlier in the summer, while headlining the Bingley Festival, he referred to Bradford in a similar fashion.
In truth, these jibes from Gallagher have come to be seen as more terms of endearment than malicious insults. Later in the performance, Gallagher showed his appreciation for the Sheffield audience by calling them ‘amazing’ and challenging them in a way only he could.
As the closing notes of the Oasis classic “Don’t Look Back in Anger” filled the air, Gallagher invited the audience to sing every word without his assistance. And, being the spirited Yorkshire crowd they were, they enthusiastically obliged.
