A young Derby girl who has survived a battle with cancer just got her wish.

Her dreams came true when she met Oasis legend Liam Gallagher – and he couldn’t resist having a pop at his brother and rival, Noel, which you can see here.

He said, “You’re nearly as cool as me.” She said she calls fake rock and roller ‘Rock and Noelers.” Liam liked it, and said Noel has ‘gone a bit silly.’

Audrina Hatton-Wright, aged eight, who lives in Mackworth, was “ecstatic” but managed to keep her cool when she met the singer and songwriter at a concert in Knebworth, near Stevenage.

Audrina had spent over a year fighting aggressive neuroblastoma after being diagnosed in 2018 and underwent treatment including chemotherapy, a stem cell transplant, radiotherapy and immunotherapy. While everything seemed extremely tough, In December 2019, her family received the great news that her end-of-treatment scans had come back clear, and Audrina has been in remission since then.

Her mum, Gemma Gould, says she’s had another tough year in 2022 and has been in hospital a lot again with cyclic vomiting syndrome. But she is now on some new medication which her mum is pleased to say seems to be working.

Her mum said: “We went to America in September and she ended up in hospital there and they have given her a new medication that seems to have worked. We are proud of Audrina and her bravery and strength it such tough times. She never gives up.”

A big Derby County fan, she stole the hearts of people across the city during her brave battle, danced with then-manager Frank Lampard and was the Rams’ mascot when the club reached the Championship play-off final at Wembley in May 2019. Audrina is also a huge McFly fan, and says she had “the best day of her life” when she got to sing on stage with one of her favourite bands in July, last year.

The crowd spotted her sitting on her dad’s shoulders playing her ukulele and encouraged the band to get her up on stage at their first gig since lockdown at York Racecourse.

Once on stage, she got to sing the famous track “All About You” with frontmen Danny Jones and Tom Fletcher in front of thousands of people.
