Reason 11 Will Work As A Plug-in Inside Other DAWs

The Swedish manufacturer Propellerhead has just announced Reason 11, a new version of its DAW. Besides some new features, tools, and tools, the biggest surprise is that you can now use Reason as a plugin. The Reason Rack Plugin can be used as a VST, VST3 and AU plug-in in any digital audio workstation, including all instruments and effects.

For example, you can build a complex synthesizer in Reason and then load it loosely into Ableton Live and integrate it into the session. Using instruments and effects from a DAW in your own favorite DAW seems to be a smart move from Reason.

Other features include two new effects – Quartet Chorus Ensemble and Sweeper Modulation Effect – as well as the mixer modules outsourced as separate effects. Also new are the Synthesizer Scenic Hybrid Instrument and workflow-based optimizations including automation curves, dedicated crossfade of audio clips, enhanced track zoom, MIDI notes mutation and the ability to draw multiple notes, among other functions.

At the same time as the release, the name Propellerhead will disappear and the company will now operate under the name Reason Studios. Reason will be available in the three versions Intro, Reason and Reason Suite.

The DAW Propellerhead Reason 11 will hit the market on September 25th and is already in its beta phase. Propellerhead has tested it under the latest versions of Ableton Live, FL Studio (Windows), Studio One, Cubase, Reaper, and Bitwig.
