Ordering a Custom built guitar can be an expensive and time consuming issue. Bills can go into the several thousands easily if you are not careful. Luckily, Rondo Music provides an affordable alternative for a custom built instrument. Keep reading for more info.

Rondo Music Custom Shop

Several times a year Rondo Music opens their Custom Shop and takes pre-orders for custom built Agile Guitars. These guitars offer a deep degree of customization in their parts and components, and have a waiting period between 4 and 6 months usually.

When you order the instrument from the Custom Order Guitars shop, you put a downpayment that varies depending on the components and features you’ve chosen, and when the instrument is delivered to you you pay a final fixed fee (may be slightly different for each model, more below).

Custom Guitar

To be completely fair, the custom Agiles are really semi-customs, in the sense that you start from a given model, and you cannot pick the body shape yourself. Apart from that, every other feature is custom, and there are massive number of options to make your instrument unique. So, first, which models are customizable ? Well, usually, the following:

  • AL-3XXX

  • Intrepid

  • ST/TC

  • Interceptor

  • Septor

  • AD

  • Hornet/Reaper (available sometimes)

  • AS-XXX (available sometimes)

  • Harm (available sometimes)

  • Pendulum (available sometimes)

As you can see, most of the best-selling Agile models are included in the custom shop list. Nevertheless, all of these are not always available, sometimes happens that a model that it was available at first, lets say for deliveries on September, is sold out and cannot be available for deliveries on October. So, our advice would be to make your decision as quickly as you can and order not to loose the model you’re looking for.

Payment

Agile AL-3000

As we said before, the way to order a custom Agile guitar is to place the order (guitar model + specifications) with a downpayment out front. The base amount of the deposit will be specify next to the guitar model of your choosing in the custom shop page. Then, you have to choose all the specifications listed and hit the button Add to Cart.

Once in the Cart page, you can add your country and zip code so the system can calculate the shipping fee. Last, with the specifications and the shipping fee, you’ll see the final amount of downpayment needed to place the order. Remember that all shipments outside US and Canada are non refundable nor subject to the standard Rondo warranty, and all customs duty/VAT will be charged to the recipient. Also, just like any other guitar purchase from Rondo, a hard case will have to be added to any order from outside the 48 states.

Later, once the guitar you order is ready to be ship, you’ll be notify so you can place the remaining amount to complete the full payment. This last amount will be a fixed number, that may vary depending on the guitar model you chose as base to custom, but will not be modify based on the specifications chosen (all those have been taken into consideration already on the deposit). Remember, transactions for custom guitars will have to be done separately from regular in stock items purchases, you cannot purchase a custom and an in stock guitar on the same transaction.

Specs

It will vary from model to model, but some of the specifications that can be customized are as follow:

  • Body Type

Agile Interceptor

  • Body Contour & Neck

  • Pickups

  • Strings

  • Neck Profile

  • Neck Inlays

  • Fretboard

  • Frets

  • Bridge

  • Hardware

  • Plastics

  • Pickguard

  • Binding

  • Handed

  • Scale

Keep in mind that some of the customizable items will add charge to the guitar. Any charges based on requests are specified on the selection combo for each spec.
