Jake Kulak – “The End”

Presenting a satiating build-up of rock and pop songwriting, “The End” is a recent single from Jake Kulak. The Connecticut-based artist describes the track as exploring “themes of idealizing nostalgia and growing into oneself while missing the person you were.”

“I don’t need you right now, always better alone,” the subdued initial vocals launch into a retrospective passion. The anthemic, chirpy guitars there compel with an infectious vigor, into a Strokes-esque guitar progression. “The days are so long, the nights are so short,” the vocals commiserate during the clanging chorus, building seamlessly into a nostalgic guitar emphasis into the three-minute turn. “The End” is a melodic charmer from Jake Kulak.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
