Los Angeles-based project Windows enamors with a caressingly melodic rock sound on their Raindrops On The Open Road EP. A blend of psych-pop and surf-rock make for a charming aesthetical output, which has drawn praise for the act since its formation in 2018 by Matteo Arias (Golden Animals/Reverberation Records), who infuses a Mexican-American lens within the West Coast psych-pop and rock cohesion. Their knack for hooky structural drives shows well throughout.

“Wanted to Know” enamors with its warming guitar twangs, opening the EP with a satiating glow. The subsequent “Sr89” captivates in its range of quainter power-pop inclinations and the “I don’t care,” remarking in the central chorus, bolstered by resonating guitar-forward ardency. Elsewhere, “Raindrops” wholly embraces the ’70s California psych-pop realm, infusing jangling guitars and harmonious vocals for a lasting appeal. “Just let the clouds roll by,” the vocals let out at one point, aptly breezing alongside a delectable array of psych-infused rock and pop.
